GTBank Wins Citi Group’s STP Excellence Award for Second Consecutive Year

Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has been named, for the second year running, by the CITI Group as winner of the most prestigious and coveted Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award. The award comes as a reinforcement of the Bank’s commitment to providing customers with effective and convenient ways of transferring funds internationally.

With STP, the entire trade process and payment transactions can be done without the need for re-keying or manual intervention, subject to legal and regulatory restrictions. It presents a no-holds-barred approach to trading for GTBank customers.

Following a research conducted by the Citi Group, GTBank swept the award, having achieved a rating of 97% for Treasury and 95% for Commercial Payments, making it the obvious choice for organizers and stakeholders.

The STP rate is considered the most important indicator for quality in the field of payment transactions, reflecting the degree of automation. Values above 90% are considered as very good STP rates.

Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Lekan Sanusi says he is excited at the recognition by Citi Group. “It is great to be acknowledged for doing something exceptional, especially when the recognition comes two consecutive years. GTBank is a customer-focused bank and so we do not relent in seeking new ways to handle their transactions without issues. We are most grateful for this award.”

Group Head, Settlements, Nana Dwomoh Bonsu said winning the STP Excellence Award twice in a row is a testament of GTBank’s leadership in international transactions. “We make the satisfaction of our customers our priority and so we have put in place a system to ensure that their transactions go through smoothly without any hitches.”

He continued that, “Being the Technology Advanced Bank, we have the most efficient and reliable platforms employed to carry out seamless international transactions, and on time. We are glad that our efforts have been recognized and rewarded.”

This year, GTBank has won 6 prestigious awards and recognitions. In May this year, the bank was adjudged the “Technology Advanced Bank of the Year” for the third consecutive time at the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards 2016 in Accra, beating off competition from Zenith Bank, Stanbic Bank, Fidelity Bank and Ecobank.

Also for the second time running, GTBank was adjudged “E-Banking Service of the Year 2016” in recognition of the bank’s convenient and reliable electronic banking solutions during the same ceremony. Nominees for this award included Unibank, GCB Bank, Stanbic Bank and Barclays Bank.

In June, GTBank won the award for “Best Aviation Online Payment” at the first ever National Aviation Awards held in Accra. The award was in recognition of GTBank’s provision of the most convenient and reliable online payments and collections platforms for the aviation sector.

Again in October, the bank won double at the Banker Africa – West Africa Awards when it was named “Most Innovative Bank in West Africa” and “Best Online Platform - Ghana” in recognition of the various products and services frequently introduced onto the market to offer customers an array of services to employ in their day-to-day businesses.
