GTBank introduces “Card Protect” service for managing card transactions

Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited [GTBank] has introduced Card Protect, a real-time self-service and first of its kind in the Ghanaian financial services industry to provide the utmost protection for card transactions.

Card Protect offers GTBank Mastercard (Business, Standard and World Debit and Credit cards) and Visa (Gold, International) card holders the freedom and convenience of controlling their transactions online, on Point of Sale (POS) terminals and ATMs.

The service has been designed to guard against unauthorized third party use as card holders can remotely control local and international transactions that should go through, and restrict the ones they do not wish to honor.

Customers who wish to access the Card Protect service are required to log into the Bank’s official App, GTWorld Ghana, choose the “Card” option and where they have more than one card linked to the account, tap on the card details that they wish to manage.

Once the service is activated, the card holder can view and adjust their daily or monthly spending limits on the card, enable or disable recurring payments such as subscriptions and permit or block online, ATM or POS transactions.

The introduction of Card Protect comes to compliment the array of electronic channels the Bank has made available to its customers and the general public to make everyday transactions safe and convenient, especially in this era of Covid19 where minimal movement and contact is encouraged.

GTBank cards have been recognized as the most reliable for online and in-store transactions. Even better is the convenience of instant card issuance services across the Bank’s branches nationwide.
