Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited (GTBank) and Visa have teamed up to reward cardholders in a promo dubbed ‘GTBank Visa Akyedie’. Cardholders who use their Visa debit and prepaid cards for transactions during the promo period, spanning November 1 to December 16, 2019 will be rewarded with exciting prizes including branded paraphernalia and home appliances. Explaining how the promo works, GTBank’s Group Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Richard Ahiagble said “Cardholders are awarded points whenever they transact with their Visa cards. For international online and POS transactions, cardholders get 50 points, for local and ATM transactions, they receive 10 points and 1 point respectively. At the end of the promo period, cardholders with the highest accumulated points will be rewarded with Smart TVs, home theatres, Bluetooth speakers among others. The ultimate winner walks away with a 65-inch Smart TV”. He continued “The Visa Akyedie promo is part of a wider campaign GTBank is spearheading to reinforce the use of cards and electronic channels in a cash-heavy economy. We are delighted to partner with Visa to drive this initiative in line with the national effort to promote a cash-lite economy”. The Akyedie promo coincides with the launch of GTBank’s contactless Visa card, a technologically advanced card that allows cardholders to make payments simply by tapping their cards on POS devices that have been enabled for the service. “New cardholders who activate their Visa contactless cards during the promo period will automatically be awarded 50 points and all dormant cards activated in November get 25 points to set them on their way to winning big in the GTBank Visa Akyedie promo” Mr. Ahiagble concluded.
