Med-View Airline and Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited have entered into an agreement that will enable the bank to use its GTCollect platform to accept payments across its thirty-one (31) branches nationwide from passengers who book flights online on the airline’s website, via telephone or at its reservation office at East Legon.
Specifically, the bank’s GTCollect platform, which is a dynamic and robust collection system, has been integrated seamlessly to Med-View’s flight reservations system to enable the bank to accept payments for bookings across its branches. The special feature of this platform is that it has a backend real-time reporting capability to allow Med-View Airline to immediately see and confirm all e-ticket reservation payments done at any GTBank branch.
The airline which started business in Ghana in September 2014 operates daily flights between Accra and Lagos, with plans to fly to other locations within the sub-region from Accra in the near future. It currently has regional operations between Lagos and other African cities and plans to add Dubai to its destinations by the end of April, 2015.
With this development, passengers wishing to travel to Lagos from Accra can make their ticket booking via Med-View’s website www.medviewairline.com, on telephone or could also visit the company’s reservations office. After a successful booking, the passenger would be given a booking reference code or Passenger Name Record (PNR) with which he or she can visit any GTBank branch to make payments. Upon payment, notification is sent instantly to Med-View who in turn issues an e-ticket to the passenger via the email address supplied during booking.
Aside the speed and convenience of this payment arrangement, the other benefit is that the system operates on a secured platform giving the passenger and Med-View the peace of mind and confidence needed for such transactions.
GTBank, noted for its IT-driven banking platform and product innovation, through this development has once again proven its commitment to further establishing the bank as a true one-stop-shop for customers and the general public.
The Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Lekan Sanusi commenting on this partnership stated that, “We are proud to add another service to our bouquet of products and services all in a bid to save customers the hassle and frustration of moving from one location to the other just to make transactions that could as well be done at one place”.
Mr. Sanusi further stated that, “While we take this opportunity to publicly express our gratitude to Med-View Airline for the opportunity given us to be of service to their passengers, we reiterate that in today’s fast moving environment, discerning customers require convenient services and reliable solutions to their everyday needs and this is exactly what GTBank is providing for its partners”.
The Managing Director of Med-View Airline, Alh. Muneer Bankolealso speaking on the partnership with GTBank stated that, “Med-View Airline is happy to partner GTBank for growth and convenience it bring to the customers of both parties”.

The bank has also recently established a relationship with Wakanow.com to enable it to receive payments across all branches nationwide from customers who make online bookings for flights, hotels, visa assistance, travel insurance, holiday packages, destination weddings, corporate travel etc on Wakanow’s website, ghana.wakanow.com.
Wakanow.com is Africa’s leading full-service, online travel company that provides travellers with a one stop portal for flights, accommodation, visa assistance, holiday packages and airport transportation.
