Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, parent company of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has been named ‘Best Bank in Nigeria’ by Euromoney.
The bank won the award during the 2015 Euromoney Awards held at the Natural History Museum in London last week.
The Euromoney Awards for excellence covers more than 20 global product categories in over 100 countries. It recognizes institutions that have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and momentum in the markets they operate.
In selecting its recipients, Euromoney combines quantitative and qualitative data to honour institutions that have brought the highest levels of service, innovation and expertise to their customers.
Editor of Euromoney Magazine, Mr. Clive Horwood, said, “Competition for the awards this year was tough, arguably the toughest it has been since the start of the global financial crisis”.
“In winning this award, GTBank stands out not only because of its stellar performance but by its ability to define what its core strengths are, abide by these strengths and build its business around them”, Mr. Horwood commended.
According to him, banking in the future will be about what banks do, and what they don’t do.

Euromoney is a monthly financial magazine focused on business and finance covering global banking, macroeconomics and capital markets, including debt and equity. It recognizes financial institutions worldwide that have recorded significant feats within their operating environment, continuously display innovation and record excellent financial performance year on year.
This is not the first time the Bank has won the Euromoney award. In 2014, it was awarded the Best Bank in Africa, making it a second successive win.
